Our Story
Otis Mercantile began with a simple desire: to live a little more slowly and make everyday life at home feel more considered.
To light the candle before dinner. To notice the first warmth moving through a room. To choose useful, beautiful objects that soften a space, bring meaning to familiar routines, and become part of the way we live.
Named for Otis, our muse and shop dog, the brand is rooted in the small rituals that shape a day. The quiet before the house wakes. A kitchen put back together after dinner. The scent that settles into a room as evening begins. The pieces we reach for again and again because they are both useful and full of feeling.
Otis Mercantile is Seattle-rooted and Paris-connected. That relationship is not a borrowed aesthetic. It is part of our life, our perspective, and the way we think about home: relaxed but considered, beautiful without being untouchable, and shaped slowly over time.
Our first release begins with small-batch candles, home fragrance, linen, and thoughtful everyday goods. Each piece is selected or made with attention to material, scent, texture, proportion, and the way it contributes to a room.
Over time, Otis will grow into a gathered collection of goods made, sourced, and chosen with care. Some will be created close to home. Others will be discovered in Paris and beyond, through independent makers, family-run workshops, markets, and ateliers whose work carries a true sense of place.
We believe home is shaped less by grand gestures than by the things we return to each day. A familiar scent. A well-used linen. A table set with care. A moment made slower simply because we chose to notice it.
Otis Mercantile is a collection for those moments.
Considered goods for home and ritual, gathered between Seattle and Paris.
